Coach Unrath played soccer at Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon, N.J. and for 4 years at Calvin College. He has also played in the West Michigan Soccer League after college and Grand Rapids Hispanic League.
Coach Unrath has been a soccer coach in the Grand Rapids Area since 1987. He coached and managed the program at Alpine Township Youth Soccer for 10 years including the Alpine United U14 travel team. For the last 16 years he has coached the Kenowa Hills High School Varsity boys team and the girls Varsity team for 14 years.
Coach Unrath is a USSF certified Level 8 referee and is attending the Coaching certification classes this summer. He enjoys teaching technical skills and helping players see the whole field in “team” soccer. He is looking forward to coaching at PASS, getting to know more soccer players and their families and working with talented players.
Mr. Unrath has a wife and 3 grown sons, 1 granddaughter, 1 grown step-son & 2 grown step-daughters. He grew up in North Haledon, New Jersey – just outside of New York City and moved to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin College and never left.
